Our Philosophy

Plastic surgeryAs a plastic and reconstructive surgeon, I love being able to help my patients enjoy their bodies and their lives more fully. Many people do not realize that plastic surgery encompasses more than just altering appearances. Enhancing the way you look can improve your self-esteem and help you become more confident in all aspects of your life. In addition, many of the reconstructive surgeries I perform not only improve appearance, but also strive to restore normal form and function to patients.

Safety and personal choice

I am a plastic and reconstructive surgeon, trained to perform plastic surgery on all parts of the face and body. I have completed an extra training fellowship focused on aesthetic body contouring, facial surgery, and breast surgery, including revision breast surgeries.

As a plastic surgeon, my priority is to provide exceptional, personal treatment based on your individual objectives. My goal is to exceed your expectations. My first commitment to you is safety, and I urge you to read our Patient Safety page for more in-depth information.

I believe it goes without saying that when you choose to have cosmetic surgery you have personal motivations and very specific desires regarding the look you wish to achieve. I understand that while performing the surgery may be routine for me, for you this is a unique experience that will change your body forever. It is very personal and life-altering, and every detail should be customized to your body and your desired outcome. It is my responsibility to help you meet your goals and to make sure that you know what to expect from your procedure.

Connecting with patients

I really enjoy helping patients who have taken an active role in their own health by losing weight with or without the aid of bariatric surgery. Losing weight requires commitment and hard work. Unfortunately, after the weight is lost, excess skin or stubborn pockets of fat often remain that can prevent you from fully enjoying the results. This is a time when I can help you achieve your final goal of a beautiful, comfortable new body.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my practice is the connection I develop with my patients. Your care does not end when surgery is over. I believe in maintaining an active role in your recovery and always being available for you if you have any post-operative concerns

Pursuing my passion – helping children who don’t have access to surgery

My training has given me the opportunity to help children and adults around the world who suffer from congenital defects, burns and traumatic injuries. Working with two non-profit organizations called Interplast and Eduplast, I have traveled to underdeveloped countries to teach local surgeons and perform free reconstructive surgery for children with cleft lips and palates and disfiguring burns. I have performed over two hundred surgeries in Bangladesh, Bolivia, China, Ecuador, India, Nicaragua, Peru, and Vietnam.

Children with cleft lips and palates are often ostracized from their communities, denied education, work opportunities and marriage due to their disfigurement or inability to speak well. Scarring from burn injuries can cause deformities that impact not only appearance, but often result in severe impairments and immobility including the loss of arm, leg or neck movement.

Interplast and other non-profit humanitarian organizations that provide free reconstructive surgery help children who would otherwise not have access to surgery live healthier, happier lives. My goal is to continue to provide this service in underdeveloped parts of our world every year – it is really my passion!

If you are interested in learning more about Interplast or donating to help provide free surgery to the needy, please contact me and I will talk with you, share my experiences, help you donate, or give professional presentations to a group that wants to learn more.
