Mid-Face Lift

The mid-face lift is a procedure that focuses on your cheeks and the area between your lower eyelids and mouth. As a result of natural aging and the effects gravity, the cheek fat pads begin to sag below the cheekbones and lose youthful fullness. Nasolabial creases form between the corner of the nose and mouth. A mid-face lift improves these signs of aging by repositioning the soft tissue and fat pads of the cheeks to a higher, more natural position. It is often combined with lower eyelid surgery to completely rejuvenate this area of the face.

Mid - face liftA mid-face lift is less extensive than a full facelift, allowing for a speedier recovery. It is ideal for a patient that complains of deep nasolabial folds, flattened, hollow or sagging cheeks, or heavy lower eyelids. However, a mid-face lift will not address problem areas in your lower face or neck. You and I will work together to decide which type of lift will achieve your personal goals and benefit you the most. The incisions are hidden in your temporal hairline, creases around your eyelids, or inside your upper lip. Sutures or an absorbable anchoring device are used to hold the tissue in a lifted position until it heals in place.

The mid-facelift can be combined with other procedures. Brow lift and eyelid surgery, when combined with mid-face lift, can improve the contour and youthfulness of your entire upper face. Skin rejuvenating procedures such as a chemical peel or microdermabrasion refresh your skin’s youthful glow and help reduce fine lines, complimenting the mid-face lift well.
